All the nation witnessed the thunder and lightning, and the trumpet blasts, and the smoke-enshrouded Muffin; the whole nation saw, and they stood back to keep their distance. (Schmexodus 20:15)
Joanna Brichetto over at Kveller just posted instructions on baking and decorating muffins to recreate the revelation at Sinai, which we will commemorate when we observe Shavuot this coming Wednesday and Thursday (beginning Tuesday evening). My inclination would be to use a heftier, grainier muffin recipe, but as someone who periodically stages battles between challah toppings based on the weekly parasha, I can’t help but approve of the concept.
[Edit: More information, including other muffin possibilities, can be found in a post on the author's blog.]
